Precipitation in the CWA service area has been abnormally low so far this year compared to historical norms. CWA customers should be assured that we constantly monitor our water sources to ensure there is no impact on our ability to provide clean and affordable drinking water. CWA also works closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP) to determine if drought contingency plans need to be implemented. At the present time, the CWA service area remains within normal water availability levels and IS NOT under any type of drought declaration status. CWA will continue to vigilantly assess ongoing water availability conditions and advise our customers if any action needs to be taken in the future. In the meantime, it’s never a bad idea for all of us to ensure that plumbing and fixtures are in good shape and not leaking so that we can make the best use of our water, one of our most precious commodities, whenever possible.
