Fishing and Boating

Chester Water Authority is proud of its beautiful Octoraro Reservoir. We are pleased to open parts of the reservoir for fishing and boating. We invite you to download our brochure that explains the recreational rules for the reservoir.

The Fishing Headquarters opens April 1 and closes October 31.
Boating is permitted on the reservoir as follows:
April, August, September, and October: Sunrise to sunset
May, June, and July: 6:00 AM—8:00 PM

The reservoir is a 520 square acre impoundment with over 10 miles of shoreline. It was impounded in 1951, and is home to a variety of fish including, large and small mouth bass, white crappie, yellow and white perch, walleye, northern pike, catfish and many varieties of the sunfish.
