CHESTER WATER AUTHORITY HYDRANT FLUSHING SCHEDULE FOR SEPTEMBER 2018

CHESTER, PA: The Chester Water Authority (CWA) will continue conducting routine maintenance on our water distribution system during the month of September. CWA personnel will be flushing the water system by opening fire hydrants within our service territory. Please note that all hydrant flushing will be performed Sunday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. so as to provide minimal disruption to our valued customers.

CWA will be flushing hydrants in the following municipalities:

Week of September 2nd: Upper Chichester Township

Week of September 9th:Brookhaven Borough, Nether Providence Township, Parkside Borough, Chester Township

Week of September 16th: Chester Township, Upland Borough, Lower Chichester Township, Marcus Hook Borough, Trainer Borough

Week of September 23rd:Trainer Borough, City of Chester

Week of September 30th:City of Chester

CHESTER, PA: The Chester Water Authority (CWA) will continue conducting routine maintenance on our water distribution system during the month of August. CWA personnel will be flushing the water system by opening fire hydrants within our service territory. Please note that all hydrant flushing will be performed Sunday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. so as to provide minimal disruption to our valued customers.

CWA will be flushing hydrants in the following municipalities:

Week of August 12th: Pennsbury, East Marlborough, and New Garden Townships

Week of August 19th: New Garden, New London, Franklin, Lower & Upper Oxford, and Penn Townships

Week of August 26th: Penn, East Nottingham, and Upper Chichester Townships

CWA Begins Infrastructure Improvements Along Meetinghouse Rd, Blueball Ave in Upper and Lower Chichester

CHESTER, PA: The Chester Water Authority has commenced work on two water system infrastructure projects along Meetinghouse Road and Blueball Avenue in Upper and Lower Chichester that will require road closures and detours that will impact motorists in the region.

During the week of July 30th, Chester Water Authority work crews will perform repairs to a 20inch diameter water main along Meetinghouse Road between Rogers Avenue and Iacono Court in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County. The road closure will occur during off-peak travel times on Monday, July 30, through Friday, August 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists will be directed to use Route 452 (Market Street), Ridge Road, Blueball Avenue and Chichester Avenue.

Chester Water Authority Set to Begin Work on Water Distribution Infrastructure Improvements Along Edgmont Avenue

CHESTER, PA: The Chester Water Authority announced today that work will commence on an infrastructure improvement project along Edgmont Avenue in Brookhaven, Parkside, and Chester on July 30, 2018. The Edgmont Avenue Valve Insertion & Main Renewal Project represents a $2.2 million investment in infrastructure upgrades that will improve the reliability of the water provider’s distribution system. 2018 Capital Improvements

CHESTER, PA: -The Chester Water Authority's Board of Directors has approved a capital budget that will invest $11.6 million in capital improvements in 2018 as part of its ongoing commitment to enhance its infrastructure and deliver excellent quality drinking water to its customers. The investment in the coming months is part of a three-year capital improvement plan that allocates more $40 million for projects to improve the authority's transmission and distribution system, enhance its treated water storage and tank system, make upgrades to its pumping and treatment infrastructure, and support customer-focused modernization efforts. CHROMIUM-6 STATEMENT

CHESTER, PA: -In response to various media articles referencing chromium-6, CWA would like to assure our customers and the public that our drinking water is safe. CWA did monitoring for chromium-6 as required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Chester Water Authority (CWA) is in compliance with a 2012 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule to monitor for total chromium and chromium-6 (hexavalent chromium) for 4 consecutive quarters between 2013-2015. View the Press Release

DROUGHT WATCH IN EFFECT FOR DELAWARE AND CHESTER COUNTIES

CHESTER, PA: - On September 6, 2016, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) expanded the drought watch declaration to include Delaware and Chester Counties due to low stream flows, declining groundwater levels, and a lack of precipitation. Under a drought watch, everyone is asked to reduce water usage by 5% through voluntary conservation efforts.

CHESTER WATER AUTHORITY ADDS ONLINE BILL PAYMENT OPTION

CHESTER, PA: - Chester Water Authority announced August 11th the launch of an online payment option for its customers. In addition to traditional mail and phone billing systems, residents can now log on to www.ChesterWater.com and make payments using credit cards, debit cards, and e-checks. The new payment option comes with step-by-step instructions to ensure ease of use for customers. A prominent Pay Bill Online button appears on the Authority's website and an example bill is provided so users know exactly where to find the information they need to make a payment. Chester Water Authority Marks 150th Anniversary

CHESTER, PA: The Chester Water Authority (CWA) -- a municipal authority that provides water service to more than 200,000 residents and businesses in southern Chester County, western Delaware County, and the City of Chester -- is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this month.
